The instant messaging service WhatsApp, which is owned by Meta and is used by more than two billion people all around the world, is always experimenting and releasing new features. Users must rely on apps developed by third parties in order to scan and email documents, despite the fact that the app already contains a large number of functionalities.
In contrast, WhatsApp has recently released a new feature for iPhone users that enables them to scan documents using the in-app camera and share the scanned document with anyone on their contact list. This function is available without the user having to leave the WhatsApp app. The fact that users were previously required to launch a third-party application in order to scan a document, save it in a folder, and then subsequently send it to other people as an attachment makes this a really helpful feature.
How to scan documents on WhatsApp?
Open WhatsApp on your iPhone, hit the “Plus” icon on the bottom bar, and then select Documents from the drop-down menu that appears. This will allow you to use the built-in document scanner that WhatsApp provides. “Scan document,” “Choose from files,” and “Choose photo or video” are the three alternatives that will appear before you at this point.
By selecting the third option, you will be able to activate the in-app camera. After that, you will need to position the document in the viewfinder and then tap on the shutter button in order to scan it. You can now share it with other people in the same way that you would share a regular document.
There is a possibility that it will take some time before the new option is accessible on your smartphone since WhatsApp has stated that it is progressively rolling out the new function. Users will be forced to rely on applications developed by third parties in the meantime because it is still unknown whether or not the feature will be available on Android smartphones and when it will be made available.
